Cookies in Greece

In Greek cuisine we meet for the first time the cookies with the name "plakountes". Their dough was similar to that of breads, but was enriched with milk, seasonal spices and honey.

"Plakountes" or cookies as they are called today, were made by all the peoples of the Mediterranean, but the most famous were those of Athens and Chios. In Persian palaces, placentas / cookies were the favorite dessert of kings and they were looking exclusively for Greek cooks for their preparation.

Although we have a wide variety of cookies in our product range, we do not use them on our site.
